What ideas do you have for a Veterans support event like this in your (LA) community? Does your community already host an event like this?

CLASSMATE: Some ideas for veteran support in my area would be to have a more veterans affair offices. Within our city there is veteran affair office but it is responsible for the entire county. San Bernardino county is one of the largest county in CA therefore it should have maybe two regional offices like an Eastern county office and a Western county office. This would alleviate the pressure from the one office and to have more resources available to veterans.

One thing my area has besides the veterans affair office is a VA clinic. I believe this should be in every city, but Rancho Cucamonga is known to have many community resources. I know there is a VA hospital in Loma Linda but for Homeless veterans in this area that is a lot to travel. However, there needs to be an emphasis on mental health resources since a lot of veterans do suffer from PTSD. Overall, the city and county need to work better to deliver veterans the resources they need.
