Conduct an interview with a health care compliance officer (S. Riddle).
All health care organizations are required to have a health care compliance officer. Larger health care systems will have an entire department devoted to health care compliance. Smaller organizations may designate the administrator, the director of Health Information Management (HIM), or the business office manager as the organizational compliance officer. All health plans have a robust compliance department.
Review the topic chosen (Technology Hacking/ Cybersecurity). Evaluate where this specific topic is most prevalent. Secure an interview with a compliance officer to discuss topic and glean insights into how this organization would deal with the situation, what types of methods the compliance officer uses to detect potential issues, and how they would prevent further compliance problems.
