Assignment - Context - Imagine your employer at a public health agency has asked you to draft a report to the agency on two of the 15 populations served by the agency. They are compiling initial ideas as they plan their annual budget. Several employees have been assigned different populations for this initial analysis. The results will be used to plan more in-depth explorations and development.
How to Prepare: The 15 populations served by the agency are listed in the table in the handout. Review the table to find the population you have been assigned for this homework. You must also pick another population that may be of interest to you for further exploration. For this homework, write about populations from at least one odd-numbered and one even-numbered row in the table
For the populations (the one you were assigned + the one you chose), do the following:
Review the definition provided and identify key words that may help you find information about Americans who fit that definition,
Brainstorm ideas about how identifying in that group may affect your health. Apply knowledge gained from the assigned course materials so far.
Find at least one credible source that describes the health status and needs of people in that population.
Write a paragraph describing the population, why you chose it, and what are the main questions you would want to explore in studying this population.
