Surviving Drought and Climate Change:
(Use the videos, above)
This video has a delegation from Los Angeles visit Australia, at the height of a drought in California, in hopes of learning things about mitigating the problems of drought and water shortages. Two states were successful in getting their citizens down to water use of 41 gallons a day, most Americans use well over 1,000 gallons a day.
1. What did you think were the most important measures the citizens of Australia, and their government, did to facilitate water conservation?
2. Given recent issues with Americans politicizing mask wearing and social distancing, do you think U.S. states, such as, California, Arizona, and other western states with water problems, would be able to get widespread compliance instituting water conservation measures, things such as, simply using less water, installing low flow fixtures and toilets, gray water systems, and rain collection tanks?
