It can be very difficult to determine what dimensions to review in the performance management process. In my work, to determine which of the dimensions are most important, observing the job and understanding the tasks that are completed translate into the dimensions that are used to evaluate an employee in the appraisal process. If there is not understanding of the job, how difficult is it to know if the appropriate dimensions are being evaluated? Can employees be one of the best contributors of this process? Employees know their role and understand what needs to be completed for the organization. With information from employees can the most effective dimensions be analyzed during the appraisal process?
