Assignment:
Answer the following question based on the textbook " A Topical Approach to Life-Span Development" by John Santrock.
1. Let's share some personal experiences! You may want to ask your parents or caregivers about this information. If you do not have access to information about yourself, you can ask a friend about his or her experience. How old were you when you first walked? Did you crawl before you walked or walked before you crawled? Once you started walking, what kind of trouble did you get yourself into? (This should be fun!)
2. Now that you have learned about our senses and how we perceive them, think about your own experiences during this module and in life in general. By now, you may be questioning pretty much everything you perceive. One year, in a face-to-face class, after showing the class all these tricks, one student wrote on his OMNs "My whole life has been a lie." I certainly don't want you to question everything, but it appears that every one of our senses can play tricks on us! In the presentation, I already mentioned a little bit about this discussion.
Think about the following questions and share your thoughts with your classmates.
a) What did you find most surprising or interesting?
b) Why is so important that we know about differences in how we perceive what we sense?
c) How can this information help us in our personal and professional lives? What should we keep in mind?
d) You can share an experience when you saw for yourself how differences in perception affected an aspect of your life.
3. A) What was the most important point or argument you learned in this module?
B) What puzzled you now at the end of this module?
