The gene-editing called CRISPR has been used to reverse antibiotic resistance in bacteria and making the cells again sensitive to antibiotics. It has been also used to alter mosquito genomes to make the insects unable to transmit infectious diseases. In humans, such genome editing could correct genetic defects or prevent undesirable traits. It has its risks as it could be used for malevolent purposes as well.

In your opinion, are the prospects of these genome editing possibilities exciting or worrisome? Give examples to support your answer.
