a- In some hotels, the position of revenue manager reports to the Director of Sales Marketing, whereas in others it reports to the Front Office Manager. Why do you think this is so? As a General Manager, how would these two alternative arrangements affect the way you would manage the property?

b- Front Ofiice Managers often serve as the hotel’s credit manager, thereby identifying and enforcing credit limits for guests staying on the property. Assume you are the General Manager at an expensive resort property. What criteria would you want your Front Office Manager to use to establish credit limits for your various guests? What communication would you want the front office to initiate with the guest who was close to exceeding, or had exceeded, his or her credit limit?

c- In most hotels, Front Office Managers are responsible for transient room sales while the Director of Sales Marketing is responsible for group sales.
