Assessment: Group Report and Presentation

Part 1: report submission; (15 marks for individual submission)
Part 2: Presentation (of which 5 marks will be for Group work, 5 marks for individual contribution)

Students will form into Groups of 3 to 5 people. (Students must have groups finalized by week ten).

Group Report

Each student will write a report of 1,000 - 1,200 words. Each student will be marked on their own submission. Upload one report from the group, with each student's section clearly identified.

Title: Impact of trade restrictions between USA and China on the Australian economy

Each student will write about ONE of the following sub topics.

1 General Introduction. Trump started the Trade War. Were his ‘reasons' economically sound?

2 How did China Respond? (Domestically and Internationally) - What economic principles did they base their response on?

3 How is the Trade War impacting the Australian economy? (Use economic concepts)

4 What is the current state of the Trade War? (Use economic concepts)

5 What advise would you give to both countries? (Use economic concepts)

(All should show any links to impacts on Australia)

In text referencing should be used, with a full reference list at the end of the report.

Group Presentation

Duration: 15 minutes maximum, all members of the group to present for 3 minutes on their sub topic.

Make sure you practice. The time limit of 3 minutes per student is adhered to.

Each group member will discuss the findings of their report sub topic. Assessment will be based on the demonstrated level of understanding of key concepts, the overall professionalism of the presentation, and the relevance of the response and recommendations as explained by the presenters. Please review the following table as a guide to what is expected from the group presentation.
