In this assignment, you will create an outline of the main points of the sociological issues in which you are interested. This will serve as the basis for your Assignment 1.4: Investigate a Social Issue Final Paper. (Note: Students please use the Purdue Owl Website to assist you with this assignment. This Website can be accessed at https://owl.english.purdue.edu/engagement/2/2/55/
Write a one to two (1-2) page outline in which you:
1.Restate your thesis statement and its overarching main points.
2.Determine three (3) main points related to the sociological event you have chosen.
3.Explore each of the three (3) main points you have illustrated and provide at least two (2) examples that support each of your main points. (Note: You can explore them in order of importance, chronologically, or compare / contrast.)
4.Determine counter arguments and provide examples of why these arguments should be examined in relation to the main points being explored.
5.Conclude your outline with a summary of the thesis statement, main points, and counter argument(s).
6.Use three (3) credible sources and APA citations where appropriate.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
•Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
•Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the professor's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

Assignment 1.3: Investigate a Social Issue Draft
Faculty Note: Students will turn in this assignment twice: first as a draft (Week 8 Assignment) and then as a final paper (Week 10 Assignment). Students will submit first draft of the assignment and then submit the final draft after receiving feedback from the professor and making the recommended changes. They will be graded separately for each submission of the assignment.
You have already developed a thesis statement and developed an outline in which you explored three (3) main points relevant to your topic of interest. Now you will develop a draft paper in which you explore your main points in detail.
Write a three to five (3-5) page paper in which you:
1.Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.
2.Describe how your issue fits into the field of sociology. Determine the sociological theories and terminology from the text that apply to your social issue. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
3.Discuss what is known and unknown about your particular issue. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
4.Discuss the value of sociological research into your issue. Determine whether or not there are (or would be) practical implications of sociological inquiry. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
