a) The transmittance of a 100.0 ppm solution of the classified "material x" was shown to be 0.700 in a cell with a pathlength of 4.00 cm. An unknown solution of "material x", measured in a 1.00 cm cell, also had a transmittance value of 0.700. What is the concentration of the unknown "material x"?

b) While your method of analysis in (a) is valid, briefly describe an analysis procedure which would enhance the accuracy and precision of your result. Include two reasons as to why this procedure would be more appropriate than the one described in (a).
