Responding to environmental changes is very important to Human Resource Management. It important that businesses keep up with new trends and adapt to changes in the environment and I think Human Resource Management has responded well. A good example is how the human resource executive of Ingersoll Rand, Craig Mundy brought a new business perspective to the company. His new approach created a more “comfortable, sustainable, and effective environment”. Ingersoll Rand wanted to create employee creativity to improve energy efficiency. Besides producing heating and ventilation systems, the company aimed to improve air quality and comfort while reducing energy consumption. Mundy changed the way human resource management focused on issues. Instead of focusing on the task itself, he focused on the solution. By changing the way, the HR management viewed upcoming problems, he was able to improve employee support and engagement. The company was able to adapt and respond to the environment in order to keep the company running successfully.
