Post One: Answer both sections A & B in your initial post.
After reading Chapter 4 in The Norton Sampler (pp. 61-76) , share something you learned about paragraphs and how you might use it in your writing.
In "Mother Tongue" (pp 241 - 245) in The Norton Sampler), Tan uses several strategies (classification, narration, description, argument) for organizing her paragraphs. For example, paragraph 2, which begins with "I am a writer," is descriptive. Paragraph 4, which begins with "Just last week," is narrative, and paragraph 21, which begins with "Fortunately, for reasons I won't get into today," is classification. Choose one of these paragraphs and explain why it demonstrates the strategy given. You will be explaining why paragraph 2 is descriptive, why paragraph 4 is narrative, or why paragraph 21 is classification.
Post Two: Respond to one of your peer's posts by commenting on their understanding of paragraph writing and their selection from the reading of "Mother Tongue." You may also note corrections in grammar and style to help your peer.
