You are a human resources training specialist working for a large automaker. Your company will soon complete construction of a plant in Sonora, Mexico. This plant will specialize in the production of your very popular subcompact, the Chaperone.
Initially, all the new plant's management will be transferred from various locations in the United States. Later, supervisors will be promoted from the ranks of the Mexican nationals hired to work on the production line. It is hoped that many of these supervisors will eventually rise to the ranks of at least middle management.
The company now faces a twofold problem, however. First, it needs to identify the criteria used to select the managers who are going to be transferred from the United States to the Sonora plant. Second, it needs a strategy for interviewing and assessing which managerial candidates would be best suited for this new responsibility. Because you earned an international business certificate along with your degree in human resources management, your boss has decided that this job is right for you.
1. Create a strategy document which will be circulated to senior management with your plan for identifying a pool of management candidates for the International Venture. Identifying candidates and traits required for managers to be considered for this assignment.
2. As a part of this assignment, identify your plan for interviewing candidates. In the document lay out your plan for how senior manager will manage this interview process, and what will be the criteria to determine the best candidate.
3. This APA research based paper should range in length from 1200-1500 words. The paper should include a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed research articles, business trade publications and/or scholarly references. The word count excludes any charts and graphs and the reference list.
