Cross Cultural Management Casestudy (Role Play)
Role Play 1-15% Scheduled for 29 November and 6/13 December 2022 The role play will be done individually. It is based upon Mandarin First scenario described below. Each student will play the role of Jackie and role play with the instructor, who will be playing the role of either Teacher Wang or Teacher Li depending on the given scenario.
Completion of this assignment fulfills two learning objectives of this course:
- Apply individual emotional strengths and consultative skills to resolve a cross cultural management issue.
- Apply emotional intelligence to manage workplace relationships. Preparation and Instructions for the Role Play
1. All students will be given access to the four scenarios and rubric for the role play.
2. Students should prepare each of the scenarios:
a. Demonstrate business partnership, consultative processes and skills summarized in the rubric;
b. incorporating their own unique personal strengths identified in Assignment 1 and;
c. the ability to leave the meeting with an action plan.
3. Students will be told the scenario they are role playing at the beginning of the exercise - be prepared for any of the four!
4. Students will then initiate the conversation
