A significant impact on health care and the nursing profession may encompass aspects related to physical, social, psychological, and cultural factors.
Includes researching an aspect of either historic or contemporary nursing, where nurses have been successful as change agents to advance/improve the health and wellness environment. Historical nursing roles that can be explored but not limited to may include nurses who were patient advocates as social pioneers, military agents, politically active agents, leaders, educators, researchers, authors, theorists. Contemporary nursing roles that can be explored but are not limited to may include nurse administrators, clinical nurse specialists, advanced practice nurses (family practice, pediatrics, psychiatric mental health, geriatric), nurses in certified speciality roles (certified nurse midwife, certified registered nurse anesthetist), community and public health nurses, telehealth nurses, and as entrepreneurs.
