Objective: Apply fundamental theories and concepts by focusing on one key early childhood education theorist.
Task
I. Select one of these theorists that you have learned about in this course: T. Berry Brazelton, Erik Erikson, Friedrich Frobel, Magda Gerber, Maria Montessori, Jean Piaget, or Lev Vygotsky
II. Research the theorist you selected by reviewing the information in the assigned readings and videos.
III. Complete the Early Child Theorist Chart provided in this unit. Fill in each chart section with the required information, including identifying the references you used from the course.
Locate the homework information in Blackboard, where the links to the resources are conveniently listed. You may use the links to help you find the information and copy the links into the homework to show the resources you used.
1. Provide basic biographical Information about the theorist: their name, date of birth/death, and place of birth/death.
2. Describe the theorist's view on the role of family, parents, and community in at least three sentences.
3. Describe the theorist's views on the value of positive relationships and supportive interactions as the foundation for young children's optimal development and learning in at least three sentences.
4. Describe at least three tools or strategies the theorist recommended for early childhood education in three or more sentences and include uses of technology If relevant.
5. List all references used to respond to items 1-4.
