Task A

Performance management and staff development are important aspects of the human resources function.

In your groups research on one of the following selected topics. Research on one of the following types of appraisal methods or performance management strategy. For the selected topic give a description of the, outline features of the appraisal method and make a 10 - 15 minute presentation. Include where applicable samples and or videos to enhance your presentation. Information should be properly organized. Include a reference page.

  1. Explain the terms (a) career planning and (b) staff development as it relates to human resources management. Discuss the procedures used to manage career planning and staff development in organizations. Outline how the organization can implement its staff development and career plans

Task B 

In your groups you will conduct a performance appraisal for one of your staff. The staff has performed well over the period, however, there has been a few areas of poor performance over the period. You are required to simulate the performance appraisal meeting discussing both good and poor performance. Include provisions  and make arrangements for improvement.
