RESEARCH SYNTHESIS ASSIGNMENT
The essence of this assignment is to integrate findings from published research into a coherent whole i.e., drawing conclusions from published articles. Crowdsourcing aims to learn from crowds. It involves studying or engaging a collection, community or group of individuals to learn from their collective views or behavior information that is an input toward a business problem resolution. It is a coordinated effort initiated by an organization to understand phenomena or to solve a problem. Crowdsourcing examples might be (a) crowd ratings e.g.product satisfaction ratings, (b) crowd processing e.g., specification of of the new product's actual performance advantages (c) crowd creation e.g., plans or prototypes for a new product or (d) crowd solving e.g., design of the actual bottle, price range, name and logo for the product.
A well-written review on crowdsourcing will demonstrate the researcher's knowledge of the research topic. Further, a research review will reveal the unique nature of the crowdsourcing research. It is important to show that your review is not a simple, common extension only of studies that are well known and understood.
Write a well-crafted research review that examines, analyzes and projects the role of crowdsourcing as an alternative marketing research method. Before you start your review read the attached article on writing a research review. Organize your review by the type of crowdsourcing encountered in previously published research (crowd rating, crowd processing, crowd creation or crowd solving). An outline for your research review paper is as follows:
O Organizations that use crowdsourcing
O Applications of crowdsourcing
O Design and execution of crowdsourcing projects
O Effectiveness of crowdsourcing results
O Caveats for the application of crowdsourcing
The source materials for your research review are available as attached files for your access to relevant academic and trade literature. This review assignment should be substantial, fully developed and organized, demonstrating your mastery of the topic. Sources used need to be documented in the review's references section in APA style. Use the research review to help frame a theoretical perspective.
The research review should be between 1000-2500 words, including references.
