The purpose of the final project is to research multiculturalism and cultural diversity in your own community. This objective will be accomplished through self-reflection, interviews, and library research. The steps to complete the project are detailed below.

Self Reflection:

Start brainstorming about a topic on cultural diversity in your community that interests you. Take a look around your community, read some articles from your local newspaper, or talk with people. For this project, two interviews must be conducted. The people interviewed must offer a different perspective on whatever topic you choose. Start to consider who you could interview as well. The primary objective this week is brainstorming and self-reflection.

No written assignment for your final project is due in week 1.

Topic Proposal:

In one to two paragraphs, submit the topic proposal by answering the following questions:

1. In your reflections on cultural diversity in your community, what topic did you feel was the most important to focus on? Why?

2. How will you benefit by researching this topic? How will your community benefit? Explain.
