If you can explain how social science is empirical and what being empirical means, identify the four types of research and discuss which are more appropriate for different research methodologies, define the key aspects of research methods, differentiate between inductive and deductive research, and discuss what challenges social science researchers face when performing research, you will have successfully achieved the module's learning objectives.
Your first assignment is due at the end of this module, and will require you to apply these various aspects of research methodology when developing your own research question and project for the semester. The assignment is presented in the Writing Assignment(s) portion of the syllabus. In summary, you need to provide a 1-2 page overview of the topic you would like to create a research proposal for by the end of the semester. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the assignments or the various learning objectives for the module, please post your questions in the interactive classroom discussion board for a classmate or the professor to provide you with feedback and advice.
