The Patient Protection and Affordable Act (PPACA) of 2010 was created to improve/increase access to healthcare coverage for all Americans.
The law was enacted in two parts: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law on March 23, 2010.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act on March 30, 2010.
The name Affordable Care Act refers to the final, amended version of the law (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Service, HealthCare.gov, n.d.). The goal of the PPACA (Affordable Care Act) is to reduce the number of uninsured people in the United States.
