Case Scenario:

"Tim and Marie are a young married couple who lost their unborn child due to a miscarriage three months ago. Marie was eight months pregnant and experienced sudden complications during her pregnancy. After an emergency delivery, their child did not survive. This was their first child. Tim has become very angry and is not talking to Marie about his feelings. Marie has become depressed and reportedly has not left her home since the loss of their child three months ago."

1. Identify the needs of your chosen family.

2. Research an evidence-based intervention you could apply to your selected family and justify why you would choose this intervention (include references).

3. Based on the intervention chosen, identify at least two goals you would recommend for your selected family and explain why.

4. Describe how you would determine when this couple or family would be ready for termination from the intervention you chose. What would be the determining factors you would consider?

5. When you determine it is time to terminate the helping relationship, what steps would you take with your selected family or couple to terminate?

6. Identify ways in which you could provide termination guidance with respect for cultural concerns, utilizing cultural humility, and cultural sensitivity in the process.

7. Reflect on how you might feel about termination when ending services with a couple or family, and state why you believe you might feel this way. Might the conditions of termination make a difference?
