Summary
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased telehealth use in primary care in the US, with a significant increase in frequency of use. A national survey of 625 primary care physicians revealed that the proportion of physicians using telehealth increased from 5.3% before the pandemic to 46.2% during the pandemic. Over 70% of physicians intended to use telehealth occasionally after the pandemic, with younger, non-telehealth trained physicians, and Asian physicians most likely to increase their use long-term.
