Part 1

This assignment looks at the needs of a Human Services issue that you find important. The needs analysis will allow you to begin working and researching an issue that a Human Services professional can improve.

Tasks:

Identify and research a specific Human Services issue of personal interest. Conduct a thorough needs analysis for the problem using application of theory and research. Make sure to include the following in your needs analysis:

1. Research and identify a Human Services issue.

2. Conduct a needs analysis of the problem, which includes an analysis of the cause of the problem and any significant factors of the issue.

3. Describe the demographics of the selected population and how the population is affected.

Create a 1and a half-page report on the needs analysis in proper APA format. The report should demonstrate mastery of the program outcomes of Theoretical Application (PO 1), Research (PO 3), Multicultural Sensitivity (PO 5), and Professional Ethics (PO 6).

Part 2

In this assignment, you will work on the first component building toward the final LASA. You are required to create your mission, vision, values, and ethics statements. These statements will help you focus your outlook on the LASA that you will complete in M4 Assignment 2 LASA. Each of these statements has specific requirements as outlined in the suggested readings. For example, a mission statement is only a few sentences that are carefully written to outline the entire mission of the agency. A vision statement is often only one sentence.

While this sounds easy, it is your goal to convey everything about your agency in 1 (i.e., the vision statement) or a few (i.e., the mission statement) sentences. As you discussed in M2 Assignment 1 Discussion, these statements are the framework for how you and your agency's employees will frame your work together and with clients.

Tasks:

In a 2-page professional proposal, complete the following:

• Create a mission, vision, and values statement for the proposed agency (PO 8).

• Create an ethical statement for the organization (PO 6).

In addition, you will address the following program outcomes: Theoretical Applications (PO 1), Research (PO 3), Personal Value Systems & Interpersonal Effectiveness (PO 4), Multicultural Competence (PO 5), Professional Ethics (PO 6), and Administration of Human Services (PO 8).

Part 3

In this assignment, you will work on the second component building toward the final LASA in M4 Assignment 2 LASA. You are required to create your funding proposal and community partnership outline for your agency.

A funding proposal may be quite complex, depending on the mission and vision of your agency. Identifying appropriate community partners for your agency should include the community partner, services you will provide each other, and your justification to believe this partner is an appropriate one for your agency.

Tasks:

In a 3-page professional proposal, complete the following:

1. Develop a funding proposal for the agency. In the funding proposal, describe the resource needs in relation to the resource availability and the costs, in both human and other resource terms, in relation to the anticipated benefits (PO 8).

2. Identify community partnerships that would collaborate with the agency to advance its mission (PO 2, 4, 6, 7).

In addition, you will address the following program outcomes: Interdisciplinary Practice (PO 2), Research (PO 3), Personal Value Systems & Interpersonal Effectiveness (PO 4), Multicultural Competence (PO 5), Professional Ethics (PO 6), Policy Advocacy (PO 7), and Administration of Human Services (PO 8).
