Overview - Today's laboratory will explore using SAM for simulating PV outputs in Invercargill for different panel orientations and ground coverage ratios.

Part One: Obtain the energy plus weather data for Invercargill. Compare with other locations that you have in SAM in terms of GHI and other metrics you think may be relevant.

Part Two: Using the PV Watts, LCOE Model option, run simulations for PV panels using the default settings (20kW, losses, GCR). Use a ground coverage area of 0.4.

Part Three: Assume you only have a limited area of flat ground available for the PV panels. Explore how ground coverage ratio impacts production and cost of electricity. Discuss how you would optimise this in a real-world situation.
