The needs assessment should address ONE of the following topics:

2. Primary health care
3. Health workforce
Within your selected topic, you will plan a needs assessment on a health service policy or program you feel relevant to the UAE population as a whole, or a particular sub-population.
Your needs analysis should be hypothetical in nature, that is, if you were conducting a needs assessment for the population or a sub-population, what are the questions, issues, concerns, problems, information would you need to obtain to be able to undertake a needs assessment. The nature of this assignment is to be investigative with a focus on the process of the needs assessment, that is, what are the structured steps you would take in conducting a needs assessment for your target population, providing a rationale or justification for your methods throughout.
Your essay should be 2000 words, excluding references. Assessment will be based explicitly on the below criteria. Performance Criteria

Evidence based approaches to needs assessments are used with clear rationale.
Demonstrates a clear understanding of the topic.

A rational conclusion is offered and supported.
Content is supported with reference citations appropriate to the topic.
Ten relevant references from peer reviewed research is the minimum acceptable standard. Additional marks will be awarded for features such as relevance, quality and contribution to the discussion, not reference number alone.
The presentation of the paper is of an appropriate academic standard - spelling, grammar and referencing are correct. There is page numbering, table of contents and correctly cited reference list.
