A block of mass 5.00 kg on a smooth plane inclined at 30° to the horizontal is attached to a string. The other end of the string is fixed to a wall. The three forces acting on the block are its weight W, the normal force of the plane on the block N, the tension T in the string.

a) Copy the figure and show the directions of the forces on the block.

b) Draw a triangle of forces to represent the equilibrium of the block.

c) Use the triangle of forces to determine the values of T and N.
