1. You observe several high school students smoking on the street near the local high school. You conclude that the school's "zero tolerance" policy has not caused students to quite smoking

2. You find out that DARE programs have failed to keep teenagers drug free. You conclude that the program is a failure, because you don't think that adolescents trust authority figures such as police officers

3. You read that the death penalty does not lead to a lower crime rate. You are not surprised, because you do not think that punishment will deter criminal behavior

4. You observe that every time your 10 your old brother watches wrestling on TV, he tries to pile drive your 8 year old sister into the couch. You conclude that watching violence on TV causes kids to engage in violence.
