Question

A 17-year-old male adolescent presents to the local emergency department with reports of "prickling, needle-like sensation" in bilateral feet and hands that now seems to be moving up both the arms and legs. He reports weakness in all four extremities and is having difficulty walking and grasping objects. The parent reports no significant medical history; however, the teen did have flu-like symptoms with fever approximately 10 days ago. potential condition actions to take parameters to monitor.
