Abstract
A brief overview of the whole report that stands alone.
The purpose of the executive summary is so a reader who doesn't have time to read the whole report can
find all the important information 'at a glance'. The abstract should
• introduce the topic of the project;
• explain the research question/problem, including the gap being addressed;
• outline the proposed methodology or theoretical approach;
• state the aims of the project;
• Significant results achieved; and
• indicate the potential impact/implications of the research.
Research Results & Discussion
• Your experimental or numerical results presented.
• Analysis the data, compare to literature, and discuss your findings.
• Alignment with your research questions and objectives.
Conclusion
• Summarizes the report's main points. Summarizes the points you've made and reinforces your overall argument. In the conclusion, you will need to explain what you have just said and why it is valid.
• "Conclusion" is not an analysis section but used to draw your findings from the previous section.
• You shouldn't introduce any new information here, and in general you shouldn't need to quote or cite any references, as you are only
summarizing the content of your own essay.
Recommendations
• Presents specific suggestions for action that arise from the analysis and findings of the report,
Project Timeline/ Management
• A detailed schedule with all research activities clearly laid out.
• Timeline should be in accordance with your real activities, you can discuss the changes of your previous plan and explain why.
• Discusses the project management of the research activity including resourcing and budgeting.
