Question: As a management consultant you have been asked to write an evaluative report on changes affecting the hospitality Industry and how strategic and operational measures can be taken to provide positive outcomes In terms of business performance.

Scope the accommoation sector of the hospitality industry and write a report on your findings. You should base your scopIng on research data collected in Assessment One and expand it where necessary.

The title of your report is: "Evaluating the impact on business performance of changing demands In the accommodation sector of the hospitality Industry; measures to create positive outcomes".

Discussion should explain fully how the impacts you evaluate affect business performance. The use of the data you collected in Assessment One must be clearly evidenced.

Recommendations should provide strategic measures, expanded into operational measures, to mitigate the impacts you discuss.

Your conclusions should justify how each recommendation would create positive outcomes in terms of business performance.

Write a minimum of 2,500 words in total

Your report must be written with a professional presentation and under the following headings:
1. Title page
2. Introduction
2.1 Issues evaluated
2.2 Impacts and their effects
3. Discussion
4. Recommendations
5. Conclusion
6. Summary of report
7. Reference list

Note: Research, reference and support all your answers with current academic literature and industry publications.

This assessment consists of two aspects:

1. A workplace evaluation report from the Workplace Supervisor.
You do not need to do anything for this part of the assessment.
2. Two reflections posted on Moodle.

The Reflections should follow the guidelines in the marking schedule. They should both:
• be between 800 - 1000 words in length
• be written in paragraphs with an introduction and conclusion
• include both theory (research) and application and relate to this semester
• include relevant referencing
• show that you can critically analyse, evaluate and reflect on the relationship between
academic models or theories and the application of these in the workplace

Reflection 1: This reflection has two parts. You can discuss them separately or integrate them. 1. Describe an area of theory or model that has been covered in any previous course (you will need to provide a description or links to any course outside of Wintec).

Critically analyse the relationship between the theory (secondary research) and your workplace (placement) experiences (or as part of the job search process).
• Use specific examples to support your discussion.
• Evaluate the relevance of the theory.
Choose two soft or transferable skills (using the skills lists on the Information and Resources tab on Moodie) and show how these are relevant in the workplace.
Reflect on your development of these skills through your placement or job-search process.
• Include at least one example for each skill.
