The nurse is caring for a 10-year-old male client who was admitted to the hospital with report of acute pain in lower right abdomen. His parents are Spanish speaking only. The interpreter reports that the child complained of pain a few days ago, but the pain subsided until today. His parents also report that the child is up-to-date on his immunizations and had a tonsilectomy and ear tubes at 2 years of age.
