Question: If I were an immigrant I would want to migrate to Texas. I chose that location because they were selling 4,000 acres of land there for a reasonable price. Even today, that is a sizable amount of land. Another benefit is that we were still allowed to maintain our previous culture and religious beliefs. No residents of Mexico were uprooted during this time. Mexico would start to feel uneasy, among other problems that might result from this. As tension between Texas and Mexico increased, America began pursuing its Manifest Destiny. Texas eventually gained its independence and joined America.
