You are required to remove the soiled incontinence pad of a bed-ridden client and apply a new one. Once this has been done, use slide sheets to position the client to his left side as requested by the client to sleep for some time.

Ensure the person is comfortable and avoid factors impeding the person's sleep and comfort. The person is known to have sleep disturbances related to occasional abdominal pain. Manage the person's pain with a heat pack if they raise a complaint of abdominal pain.
