In 2016, a survey by Pew Research Center reported that a majority of police officers believed relations between the police in their department and the Black people in the community they serve were "excellent" (8%) or "good" (47%). However, far more officers saw excellent of good community relationships with whites (91%), Asians (88%), and Hispanics (70%). These findings suggest more should be done to improve the relationship between the police and black people.
