I personally didn't have any experiences with DARE in school but I think its a good program to show to teens about the dangers of drug use. The DARE program, meant to prevent drug abuse among kids, didn't seem to work great at stopping drug use, according to some studies. But one good thing about it was that it brought police officers into schools, giving kids a chance to see them in a positive light and maybe build trust with them.

However, recent school shootings have made people think more about having police officers in schools. While having officers around might make students feel safer, some worry it could lead to more policing and unfair treatment, especially for students of color. So, while programs like DARE and having police officers in schools have good intentions, their impact on relationships between kids and the police depends on a lot of things and needs to be thought about carefully.
