Good discussion. One distinction I want to make here is we tend to thing of power as a "thing." Power occurs in relationships so power is relational (Northouse, 2013). The type of relationship may drive the base or bases of power in which a leader operates from, but power is not just some "thing" sitting out here to be used. Leaders derive the ability to influence based on position or personal traits (e.g. charismatic) and the relationship between the follower and leader (Northouse, 2013). So, thinking about the relational aspect, does your answer change any?
