Question: 'law is in reality little more than the persuasive deployment of rhetorical devices and signifiers'
(Fraser, 2005)
With reference to one example of a law (I have chosen The Civil Rights Act) explain and critically evaluate the extent to which law is used to give effect to ideology.
To answer this question, you must:
select one example of any type of law - historical or current - from any nation-state (except for the Third Reich) and analyse it to assess the extent to which it gives effect to ideology
based on your analysis, and drawing on your studies of W340 and other research you undertake, critically evaluate whether there is a relationship between law and ideology.
