Problem: A researcher is interested in the relationship between gender and the number of hours spent studying for a test and performance on the test. She wishes to use an experimental design, so she first randomly selects 90 males and 90 females from a target population of 25-year-olds. After separating the subjects by gender, she randomly assigns each subject to one of three groups. Group A studies for 15 min for a simple trivia test. Group B studies for 3 hours for the simple trivia test. Group C does not study at all prior to taking the trivia test.
