Question
1. Read Waltz's methodology regarding the steps to operationalize an attribute, including 1) developing the Theoretical Definition (preliminary definition, literature review with four steps, Mapping the Meaning with five steps, and Stating the Theoretical Definition and 2) developing the operational definition, including specifying variable aspects of a concept with 4-5 steps, identifying observable indicators and developing approaches to measurement.
2. Using these 2 articles: Stress: A Concept Analysis by Patricia M. Goodnite and Perceived Stress Reported by Nurse Practitioner Students by Maville, Kranz, and Tucker develop a theoretical definition of academic stress. Use Waltz' methodology. 1) Write out the theoretical definition you developed. 2. Clearly identify the mapped meaning and subsequent definition. See three examples on pages 50 and 51 of the Waltz text.. 3. Reflect briefly on your process and thoughts related to developing the theoretical definition.
3. Once you have established your theoretical definition, operationalize the concept of academic stress, considering how these domains could best be measured. Construct a 2 column chart. One column is headed Important Domains, and the other Measurement Method.
4. For each Important Domain listed, briefly suggest a way the domain could be measured.
5. Make your best attempt to develop an all-inclusive operational definition and include in your submission.
