Regarding the scenario of the speeding vehicle and pregnant woman, safety of everyone involve is of the highest priority. This safety extends to the public as well. Although I did not know the situation involved a pregnancy emergency at first, I would say the second priority here is to help the woman get immediate medical attention. If the person had stopped and indicated that this was the case, I would have escorted them safely to the hospital. This was not the case and the person continued to drive to the hospital. Once at the hospital, I would ensure that the woman is helped by medical staff and sent to where she needs to go. One the woman is situated; I would approach the male to discuss his actions. I would explain to him that his reckless driving could have endangered the public, himself, the female passenger, and the unborn child she is carrying. I would also add that I am a police officer and assumed at first that he could have been fleeing from the scene of a crime.
