The following is a diagram shows refraction of a light beam at the interface of two media. The incidence and refraction angles are measured to be 45 deg and 30 deg respectively. Will total reflection happen when the light beam shins from the top to the bottom medium as shown? What about if the light shins from the bottom to the top (the opposite direction as shown and the angles remain the same)? If so, what is the critical angle?
