The reflection should be a written response to the materials assigned in the module. Responses should be brief: in paragraph form, and submitted as a word document.

The reflection should not be a summary or repetition of the readings. It should be your perspective on the readings. If you agree with something, why? If you disagree, why? Does this link to the material you have covered in other classes? If yes, in what ways? If not, how did this add to your overall understanding of the topic? Did you have a personal reaction to the materials (e.g., angry, heartened, etc.)? This is not an exhaustive list of reactions, just some examples. Did this link to something in your own life (personal or professional)? Can you draw connections between the readings and real-world things? Can you make connections to concepts we talked about in class that were not necessarily in the readings? Did this prompt you to ask questions that could stimulate discussion and that we can potentially chat about in class?

Your reflection doesn't need to cover all of these, but these are the types of questions you should ask as you sit down to write it. It is not a test of what you can reiterate from the readings; it's a critical analysis of the materials.
