Reflection Paper: Remembering Death

All spiritual traditions stress the importance of remembering death, but unfortunately, most people think of death as a remote possibility. Contemplating your death can wake you up to life.

Imagine you are at the end of your life. List the top things you regret in your life.
Then write your obituary for the life you wish you lived. Think of the obituary as a guide for the rest of your life. What is the life you most want to live (not the life others want you to live in order to fulfill their unfulfilled life plans).

Ask you heart what you most desire, what will nourish your soul. A good obituary can be a great tool for living intentionally. It can give you clarity, direction, and a deep sense of purpose.
