Scenario:
Julie Behar, Triumph Promotional Products LLC, is considering two options to provide employees with onsite benefits. One of these would be a relaxing workspace for full-time onsite employees to enjoy for informal gatherings and breaks, Friday casual dress, and childcare onsite. In addition to this Julie also intends to provide employees with flexible scheduling. What this means is that some employees can work 4 ten hour days, weekends and nights.
Julie is also considering allowing some employees to work from home two -three days a week. Unfortunately, this option is only available to some employees but not all employees as their jobs require onsite work. Currently any employee who was working remotely has not been called back to the office full or part time. In this case they must be informed that they will be required to return to the office at least part time.
Therefore, Julie is considering the following:
Childcare onsite or a childcare subsidy and/or flexible scheduling to cover childcare or care for family members and/or
Work from home with a required two to three days a week in the office.
The Human Resources Department conducted a survey to collect primary data from employees regarding their preferences for the new benefit options. The results of the survey are provided within the Module. The primary data supplied in the survey is the only primary data you should use in your report! Do not spend time making up imaginary surveys or interviews. Instead, spend your time doing credible secondary research.
Julie Behar asked you to evaluate the survey data (primary data) and supplement these data with outside research (secondary sources) that would help her determine which benefit option she will implement. The secondary sources should include credible data from third party researchers or from companies that have implemented similar benefit practices.
Question: Well thought-out arguments for and against the option you choose to research are required. Julie Behar also expects your recommendations to reflect the research and data presented in the report. Personal opinions are irrelevant.
