Case Scenario -
After outdoor play I encourage children to sit on the mat of the group learning activity in circle by crossing their legs and hands on laps. I asked them to close their eyes and count till 5 to see the surprise as they counted till 5 I sat with them and put all the materials such as paper plates, glue, pompom etc in front of me and said, "Thank you for counting the numbers today we will do something fun who is excited?' then everyone starts to look at me I took out the paper Christmas Wreaths and I said again, "Today we will decorate this Christmas Wreaths, who can tell me what colour this is and who has seen this before?" then Reuben says, "Green" I said, "Good job Reuben you are right." I asked again, "Who can tell me who has seen a real Christmas Wreaths and what it is it?" then everyone starts to say, "Me" I said, "Ok, Christmas Wreaths symbolize eternal life and today I will show you how to decorate it and you will have your turn, but you have to listen very carefully." Then everyone was looking and listening to me very carefully, I took one Christmas wreaths and some pompom and stick it to the Christmas wreaths using a glue and showed them step by step to decorate it and said, "Look we will decorate like this who wants to have turn?" then everyone starts to say, "Me" again. I been observing Reuben listening to me very carefully so, I asked him, "Reuben do you want to decorate the Christmas wreaths?" then he looked at me with smile and says, "Yes" so, I gave him one paper Christmas wreaths with glue on it and put the decorative materials on the side then he looked at the materials for a while and picked up the pompom and starts to stick on the Christmas wreaths and after a while he says, "Look" pointing with his index finger to the Christmas wreaths that he made and I said, "Did you finished do you need help Reuban?" the he says, "Yes" and I helped him little bit and later he was able to stick the pompom on the Christmas wreaths . After that I said, "Well done Reuben, now can you please sit back to your place. "Then he gave me big smile and sat back to his place. After that I continue inviting other children to decorate the Christmas wreaths. After that I encourage children to help me pack away materials together.
