Your task
Read some literature reviews, compare and contrast them and reflect on what makes a good literature review. What is their purpose and how they help in R&D? (400 - 500 words)
Instructions
You can choose any three review articles (survey papers) from the journal ACM Computing Surveys. But if you're unsure which to choose, we recommended the following:
• Technology roadmap for building a smart city: An exploring study on Methodology
• A Taxonomy and Survey of Cloud Resource Orchestration Techniques
• Connected Car: Technologies, Issues, Future Trends
• Searching the Web of Things: State of the Art, Challenges, and Solutions
Think about the following questions as you read each review article and submit your answers:
• what is the topic of the review? What is the purpose of the review?
• describe how the research in the topic of the review is organized and presented: is there a taxonomy, a roadmap or a timeline? What is the difference between these?
• what are gaps or areas of future work suggested?
• did you learn from the research? what made it good or bad?
After you read and analyse all three articles and answer the above questions,
• briefly, compare and contrast the three review articles you choose.
Take note of what makes a good literature review. Provide a complete list of references and use IEEE referencing style. The reference list should include the papers that you have chosen.
