Activity 1: Skills audit
The student is asked to complete an online self-assessment of individual skills at the start and at the end of the module. This will support their argument about the development of their transferable (academic and interpersonal) skills. This task is done in lecture 1 and students may choose to do it again at the end of the module to compare before and after.
Activity 2: Personal development plan (PDP)
Based on the skills audit, the student is asked to design a personal development plan highlighting the skills that need to be developed, how they will be developed, through which resources and in what timeline (please see the template in Appendix A). This PDP needs to be submitted as an appendix with the submission at the end of the module.
You will also find useful information to help you plan your future career in the UWE Careers Development website
Activity 3: individually written reflection (1500 words)
This reflective piece needs to highlight the transferrable skills that have been gained/developed during your programme, specifically through teamwork experiences.
Please focus on one of your most meaningful teamwork experiences throughout this semester in your MSc programme and reflect on how that situation helped you develop specific academic and interpersonal skills (please identify them - for example: teamwork, critical thinking/writing, leadership, conflict resolution/negotiation, digital literacy, etc.).
Consider the most important academic and interpersonal skills you think you have developed so far through that experience of teamwork and how you believe these skills can help you in your future career.
It is expected that you reflect on what you have learned about yourself from the selected example/experience, so you will need to consider:
A specific example of a situation that happened during your studies at UWE.
Must be a situation related to a teamwork activity.
How is this example linked to a transferable skill and which one?
How was that skill developed? In what way? Or is it something you still need to develop?
What have you learned from this teamwork situation/experience?
What have you learned about yourself in that situation?
What could you have done differently?
