How to Proceed
Your submission should be 1.5-spaced, with a 12-point font. Full student and assessment identification must be included with your submission.
Your reflection should be a minimum of 500 words, but it may not exceed 650 words. Please refer back to the self-assessments you completed earlier in the course.
You must submit your paper to the Self - Reflection Paper dropbox available on UM Learn by the deadline date.
Exceptions to these deadlines must be approved, in advance, by the instructor.
Organizational Behaviour REFLECTION PAPER GUIDLINE
• A reflection paper is one of the few pieces of academic writing that you use the first person pronoun "I." Students should relate their subjective feelings and opinions using specific evidence to explain them based on the concepts/models of Organizational Behaviour.
• Avoid slang and always use correct spelling and grammar. Internet abbreviations like "LOL" or "OMG" are fine to use personally among friends and family, but this is an academic paper so they cannot be used.
• Check and double-check your spelling and grammar after you finish your paper.
• Maintain a professional or academic tone. A reflection paper is personal and objective, but your thoughts should be organized and sensible.
• Connect three specific concepts/models of Organizational Behaviour to your personal experiences.
a. Example: When I completed the "Leadership Assessment" I scored highest in the category. Then discuss a situation or experience that demonstrates it.
b. Example: When I was employed at Company, the primary responsibilities I performed were and the autonomy I had in determining my work plan was Then discuss the concept/model that it represents.
• Write a clear introduction to introduce your paper that includes a thesis statement. A thesis statement is a single sentence that provides focus and a guideline to your paper. It states the order of your paper's organization and main body paragraph themes. The thesis statement is usually the last sentence in the introduction paragraph.
• Explain your personal conclusions/connections in the body paragraphs.
• Each paragraph should have its own topic sentence. This topic sentence should clearly identify your major points, conclusions, or understandings for the paragraph.
• End your paper with a conclusion that supports both your thesis statement and your body paragraphs.
